By Rob Garpiel
In February, Garpiel Group was awarded an Industry Award by the Michigan Nursery & Landscape Association (MNLA) for a landscaping project we designed and built, entitled “Gardenscape Getaway.” The project was constructed for a family of three generations who all live on a 400-acre estate. It was important for our client to have a gathering place for friends and family to visit and enjoy the outdoors. With a “farm-to-table” mindset the project was designed to serve as a raised vegetable garden, allowing for easy access to the vegetables.
The MNLA Industry Awards Program aims to recognize that quality landscaping can improve the environment and property value, recognize those skilled professionals who have executed quality workmanship, as well as encourage landscape contractors, architects and managers, to continue efforts to raise the industry’s image by consistent use of quality materials and competent workmanship.
I am extremely proud of my brother Joe (project designer) and his hard work and commitment to creating beautiful environments for others to enjoy and entertain guests in. I am also very appreciative of Randy Sova, the project leader who managed the day-to-day construction. Randy is a truly talented craftsman who sets quality and detail above all else in the projects he builds. Last, but not least, I am thankful for the help of Amelia Jaskiewicz, who did all the heavy lifting needed to get the project information submitted to the MNLA for award consideration
