Creating Curb Appeal

Ever pulled into your driveway and looked at your landscape with disappointment? We understand that finding the time, expertise, and resources to revitalize your outdoor space can be overwhelming.

Sometimes, the smallest changes can make the biggest difference in your home’s curb appeal. Garpiel Group can work with your budget to give your landscape a stunning makeover, adding seasonal color, refreshing mulch, or even build the patio of your dreams.

SHRUBS/ORNAMENTALS

Yews, juniper and arborvitae are among a handful of shrubs that quickly can become overgrown without biannual pruning. Whether it be the lack of proper spacing during planting or pruning, removing these old shrubs and replacing them with something manageable and more color can make the house look larger and add to the overall aesthetics of your landscape.

PERENNIALS

Understanding bloom timing, duration and color are important when selecting perennials and annuals for your landscape. Height is also important when determining plant placement. Ornamental grasses – whether using a dwarf or a taller variety like Purple Maiden or Karl Foerster – can be used for creating a backdrop, adding privacy to a terrace, or adding cover in corners and around unsightly meters.

MULCH

Did you know that, on average, homeowners reapply mulch every two years? If it’s to freshen up the color or to add depth in thin areas to reduce weed growth, mulch is very beneficial to shrubs, trees and annuals /perennials when installed properly. Removing mulch from areas where it is more than 3-4 inches deep is important because it can make an ideal home for unwanted insects or cause trunk rot on trees.

LANDSCAPE LIGHTING

Adding up-lighting to ornamental trees or path lights to a walkway can add a new dimension to your landscape during dusk. However, proper placement without over-using lights can make or break a landscape at night. Lighting comes in a wide variety of styles and finishes, and even color-changing LED bulbs for accent lighting during the holidays.
